Top Ten Things I Love About Texas
In no particular order:
1. Giant Trucks
2. Southen Accents
3. Central Air and Heat
4. Bullshitting
5. The Heat
6. Open Spaces
7. The ability to be in the middle of no where
8. Beautiful Farm Boys
9. Iced Tea
10. Everything Really is Bigger Here
I've been chillin' in College Station with Bryan who goes to Texas A & M, a best friend from high school. He's goiing to be an electrical engineer, and is generally the coolest person ever.
It's been good times. I've grown to apprecaite the fine skill that is Bullshitting. I'll get into that on my blog, but let it be known that Texans spend an inordinate amount of time bullshitting with goddamn anyone who wants to about not a fucking thing. The weather, hunting, fooball, school, people, whatever. It was amazing: as we waited for Rita, who turned out to be a huge cocktease, we all stood on the porch just talking shit to the "hurricane." The ability to make a big deal over absolutely nothing in a humerous way is a skill that is highly under rated.
We also went to a bar called the Ptarmigan
, or P-Tar for short, and I again marveled at Texas Women and their compulsive need to dress for anything. Here we are at a hole in the wall bar, drinking pitchers of beer and there are people in full make-up, ruffles, and satin. Don't get me wrong: I like to dress up, be girly, go through the entire process, but the complusive need? Not so much.
As I woke up today, I did go through all that effort though: I'm going to Waco, and there, beauty is key. Not because of Adam, or my friends, but that's the way it is. It's easy to understand once you're there that the main goal is ass, not education. There's an old saying -- what's so great about Baylor? Buildings, Bibles, and breasts you'll never see.
And off I go.
Five Days and Counting.
